Matt Wood......Go to Gallery
Matt has never formally studied art, but was always interested in producing images and art work that would reflect his passion for sport, music and film. Matt began painting in 2002 when he moved to Sheffield to study economics and sociology and decided that he needed some distinctive posters to decorate his room in the university halls of residence.
Borrowing some materials from his father who works in the sign industry, he set about creating pictures on white Foamex panels and after experimenting with several types of paint, he found that Dulux trade emulsion gave the best results. His technique developed quickly as he moved from a two-tone pop art style to his celebrated ‘photo-realistic’ style.
